Our Story

Every sign starts with someone taking a chance.

The café owner who's put their savings into a lease. The barber opening their first chair. The charity volunteer who needs a banner by Saturday, because the fun run is on Sunday. We know that feeling, because in 2013 we took a chance too.

We started as a small family business in High Wycombe with a simple belief: a local business deserves signage that looks as good as the big brands' — without the big brand price tag or the endless wait.

Too many small businesses were being let down. Quotes that took a week to arrive. Signs that faded in a single summer. Suppliers who stopped answering the phone the moment the invoice was paid. We knew we could do better, so we decided to.

We kept things personal from day one. We answered our own phones, met customers face to face, and treated every job, whether it was a single poster or a full shop front, as if our own name was going above the door.

Word spread the old-fashioned way. One happy shop owner told the shop next door. A takeaway sign led to a salon sign, which led to a full shop fit-out down the road. Year by year, the team grew, the workshop filled with bigger and better machines, and the jobs got more ambitious.

Who We Are Today

Urgent Sign is part of the Discount Sign & Print family: a team of designers, printers, sign makers and fitters working side by side under one roof at St Georges Works in High Wycombe.

We're sign makers, printers and shop branding specialists in one. That means the person who designs your sign can walk across the workshop and talk to the person printing it. Nothing gets lost in translation, nothing gets sent to a third party, and nothing leaves our door until we're proud of it.

Our team is small enough to care and skilled enough to handle anything you throw at us.

Our designers turn rough ideas, a logo on a napkin or just a business name into designs that stop people in their tracks. They know what reads well from across a busy road, and what doesn't.

Our print and production team run our large-format printers and cutting machines every day. They're perfectionists about colour, clean edges and finishing, because they know your sign will be looked at thousands of times.

Our sign makers and fitters build 3D letters, wire LED lighting and install signs safely and neatly, from a simple fascia panel to a complete illuminated shop front.

Our customer team keep everything moving. They answer your questions, send your proofs, chase your deadline and make sure you're never left wondering what's happening.
