Mesh Banner Printing: Custom Printed Mesh Banners Built for British Wind

British weather doesn't do gentle. A solid banner on a windy fence or scaffold can behave like a sail, and the fixings, the fence and sometimes the banner itself pay the price.

Mesh banners solve that. They're printed with your artwork, but the material has tiny perforations that let wind pass through, so your message stays up where it matters: on building sites, school railings, car parks, festival fencing and tall hoardings.

We print custom mesh banners in our own High Wycombe workshop. You send the size and artwork, we check your file for free, and we give you an honest ready-by time.

What are Mesh Banners?

A mesh banner is a printed banner made from PVC-coated polyester mesh. The artwork is printed straight onto the mesh, then the edges are hemmed and fitted with eyelets so it can be tied, cable-tied, or strapped to a fence, frame, scaffold, or railing.

The key difference from a standard PVC banner is the weave. Thousands of tiny openings let air flow through, which reduces wind load and makes mesh banners the sensible choice for large, exposed sites. Up close you can see the mesh, but from a few metres back the image reads as a solid, full-colour graphic.

Why Choose Printed Mesh Banners?

  • Wind-friendly by design: The mesh lets wind pass through, so there's less strain on the banner, the eyelets, and whatever it's fixed to. For large format mesh banners on fences or scaffolding, that matters a lot.

  • Big impact, big sizes: From a standard fence banner to giant mesh banners for buildings and events, we print to your dimensions. (CONFIRM: maximum banner size and whether panels are joined for very large sizes)

  • Built to be outdoors: PVC mesh banners are made for tough conditions: rain, sun, and wind. Reinforced hems and eyelets help your banner hold up, and we'll advise on the best way to fix it. (CONFIRM: mesh weight, UV-resistant inks, hem and eyelet spec)

  • Colour you can read from across the road: Strong, saturated print with bold text and logos that stay visible at a distance.

  • Affordable for the size: Mesh gives you a large advertising surface at a sensible price, with no hidden extras. Send your size and quantity and we'll quote clearly.

  • Breathable and see-through, in a good way: On some sites the mesh also lets light and air through, which helps where you don't want to block views or ventilation completely. (CONFIRM: perforation percentage so this claim can be quantified)

Our Mesh Banner Options

1. Custom Printed Mesh Banners

The everyday option. A printed mesh banner with hemmed edges and eyelets, ready to hang. Ideal for fences, railings, gates, hoardings, and exterior walls where you want a bold, outdoor-ready advertising banner.

2. Large Format Mesh Banners

When you need the message to carry across a car park, a field, or a main road, go large. Large format mesh banners are the go-to for building sites, stadium fences, festival boundaries, and big retail launches. Tell us the dimensions and fixing points and we'll advise on the right set-up.

3. Building Wrap & Construction Site Mesh Banners

Cover scaffolding, hoardings, and facades with a full-size graphic that advertises, informs, and tidies up the look of a site. Developers, contractors, and property owners use building wrap mesh banners to promote projects, show visuals of what's coming, and keep branding consistent. (CONFIRM: scaffold-wrap spec, flame-retardant options, and whether you give wind-load advice)

Important: Scaffold wraps and very large banners should always be fixed in line with your scaffolder's or site manager's guidance.

4. Double Sided Mesh Banners

One banner, two messages. Double-sided mesh banners show your artwork on both faces, which suits banners seen from two directions, such as across a road, between poles, or along an event route. (CONFIRM: double-sided availability, and whether it is printed on both sides or joined back-to-back)

5. Festival, Event & Promotional Mesh Banners

Festival banner, sponsor wall, or event boundary, mesh banners handle crowds, wind, and long days. They're lightweight enough to hang quickly and strong enough to stay up. Perfect for sponsors, stage fencing, heras fencing, and entrance signage.

6. Fence & School Banners

Schools, nurseries, and academies use mesh banners to celebrate results and welcome families, including Ofsted banners that proudly display a new rating on the school fence. They're durable, weather-ready, and easy to put up. (CONFIRM: any special pricing for schools and charities)

The simple rule: If the banner is big, high up, or in the open, choose mesh. If it's small, sheltered, or needs the crispest detail, choose a solid PVC banner. Not sure? Tell us where it's going and we'll point you to the right one, even if that's the simpler option. You can also see our PVC banner printing page for solid banners.

What Makes Us Stand Out

  • Honest timings, always: The cut-off and ready-by times we give you are the real ones. If we can't hit your date, we tell you before you order, not after.

  • Free artwork check on every order: Before anything prints, we check your file for size, bleed, resolution, and avoidable mistakes, then send a proof for your approval. You collect what you expected.

  • Made in our own High Wycombe workshop: We print, finish, and check in-house. No middlemen, no mystery about where your mesh banner is.

  • Backed by Discount Sign & Print: Our parent company's workshop and team stand behind us, so if your project grows into rigid boards, vehicle graphics, or illuminated signs, we can cover that too.

  • You talk to the people making your banner: Call, WhatsApp, or email and you reach the workshop. No call centres, no ticket numbers.

Design Your Mesh Banner: Easy as 1-2-3-4

  1. Tell us the size and quantity: A rough idea is fine. We'll confirm what works for your fence, frame, or scaffold.

  2. Send your artwork: Upload a print-ready file, or send us your logo and wording and we'll help you shape it. We accept PDF, AI, EPS, JPG, and PNG. (CONFIRM: design service and cost)

  3. Approve your proof: We check your artwork for free and send a proof. Nothing prints until you say so.

  4. We print, finish, and you collect: Printed, hemmed, and fitted with eyelets, ready from our High Wycombe workshop at the time we promised. (CONFIRM: delivery options and areas)

Mesh Banner Design Tips

  • Go bold and simple: Mesh breaks up very fine detail, so use big text, strong contrast, and a clear logo.

  • Keep it short: Five to seven words work best for a banner read from a distance or a moving car.

  • Choose high-contrast colours: Dark text on a light background, or the other way round, reads best.

  • Leave a little space at the edges: It keeps eyelets and hems clear of your artwork.

  • Think about the fixing: Cable ties, bungees, or straps and how many eyelets you need make a real difference in strong wind.

  • Remember the background: Because mesh is partly see-through, the colour behind it can show through. Light-coloured banners on dark backgrounds can look different. (CONFIRM: whether a lighter backing or liner option is offered)

11 questions
What is a mesh banner?

A mesh banner is a printed banner made from PVC-coated polyester mesh. Tiny openings in the weave let wind pass through, so it puts less strain on fences, scaffolding and fixings than a solid banner. It's the go-to material for large outdoor banners in exposed UK locations.

Are mesh banners better than vinyl banners outdoors?

For large or windy locations, yes. Mesh lets wind through, which reduces the force on the banner and its fixings. Solid vinyl gives slightly sharper colour and detail, so it's better for smaller, sheltered banners. We'll recommend the right one for your site.

Can you print on both sides of a mesh banner?

We can advise on double sided mesh banners for locations seen from two directions.

How long do printed mesh banners last outdoors?

It depends on weather, sun and how the banner is fixed. Many outdoor mesh banners stay in good condition for months, and often longer. Good fixing helps a lot.

What size can you print?

From small fence banners up to large format and giant sizes. Tell us your dimensions and we'll confirm what's possible and the price.

How do I fix a mesh banner to a fence or scaffold?

Most mesh banners are fitted with eyelets and fixed with cable ties, bungees or rope. Use enough fixing points and keep the banner taut for the best hold. For scaffolding and very large banners, always follow your scaffolder's or site manager's guidance.

Link to this answer
Can I see through a mesh banner?

Slightly. From the printed side the graphic looks solid at a distance. From the back you can see through it a little, which is what lets wind and light pass through.

What file format should I send?

PDF is best. We also accept AI, EPS, JPG and PNG. We check every file for free and tell you straight away if anything needs fixing.

How fast can I get my mesh banner?

We give you a clear cut-off time and an honest ready by time before you order. Approve your artwork before the cut-off and we'll confirm when it will be ready.
