Who we are

This privacy policy explains what we do with the information you give us when you use this website, ask us for a quote, order from us or sign up for our emails. "We", "us" and "our" mean the business named at the top of this page; our contact details are there too.

[CONFIRM: if the business is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, add the registration number here.]

What we collect

  • When you ask for a quote or contact us: your name, email address, phone number, company (if you give it), how you'd like us to reply, your message, and the product, options, size, quantity and date you need it by. Also any artwork or files you upload.
  • When you book a consultation: your name, email address, phone number, company (if you give it), the kind of consultation and the time you choose, what it's about and anything you tell us. For a site visit, the address and postcode where the sign is going. We use them to hold the time, remind you the day before and talk your project through.
  • When you order online: your name, email address, phone number, delivery or billing address and what you ordered. Payments are taken by PayPal: we never see or keep your card details.
  • When you sign up for our emails: your email address, and when you signed up and confirmed it (we only add you after you press the link in our confirmation email).
  • When you leave a review: your name, your review and rating, and your company or town if you give them. We only publish a review with your permission.
  • When you visit the website: we count visits to each page without cookies and without keeping your IP address. If you allow analytics cookies, we also note how you first found us (for example a search or an advert) and keep it with your enquiry.

Why we use it

We only use your information when the law allows it:

  • To answer you, quote and make your order: because you've asked us to, and to carry out our contract with you.
  • To send you our newsletter and offers: only with your consent. Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click.
  • To ask how we did: after a job we send every customer the same short email asking for a Google review. This is our legitimate interest in hearing from our customers, and you can ask us not to send these at any time.
  • To keep the website and forms safe and free of spam: our legitimate interest in protecting the site and our customers. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from spam robots.
  • To improve the website: our legitimate interest, using visit counts that can't identify you. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used with your consent (see our cookie policy).
  • To keep our accounts: because UK tax law requires us to.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We only share it with the services we use to run the business, and only what they need:

  • our website and email hosting company, which stores the website, your enquiries and our emails [CONFIRM: Hostinger];
  • PayPal, which takes payments for online orders;
  • Google, for reCAPTCHA spam checks, and for Google Analytics and Tag Manager if you allow analytics cookies;
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for advert measurement if you allow marketing cookies;
  • Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the website, when we use it;
  • couriers, when we deliver an order to you [CONFIRM: which ones, if any].

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Where it's kept

Your information is kept on servers in the UK or Europe [CONFIRM: the hosting company's server location]. Some of the services above (Google, Meta and PayPal) may handle information in other countries, including the United States. When they do, it's protected by safeguards UK law recognises, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK-US data bridge.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and quotes, with any files you sent: [CONFIRM: for example two years after we last heard from you], then deleted.
  • Orders and invoices: six years, as UK tax law requires.
  • Our email list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a "do not email" list, so you're never emailed by mistake.
  • Visit counts: 13 months.
  • Backups of our records are kept for 14 days.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that's wrong;
  • delete your information, unless we have to keep it (for example for our accounts);
  • stop or limit how we use it, or object to how we use it;
  • give you your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
  • stop emailing you (or use the unsubscribe link in any email).

It's free, and we'll reply within one month. Use the contact details at the top of this page.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
