Neon Signs: Custom LED Neon Signs, Made to Order in the UK
Picture the moment someone walks in and stops. Maybe it’s the first customer through the door of your new bar. Maybe it’s a friend seeing the wall you’ve finally finished at home. Maybe it’s a shopper who crosses the road because a soft glow in your window caught their eye after dark. In every case, the first thing they look at is the light with your name on it.
That’s what a neon sign does. It turns a name, a logo or a single line into something people notice, remember and photograph. Neon signs, neon light up signs and neon signage all do the same job, and they do it with a warmth that flat signs can’t match.
We make custom neon signs in our own High Wycombe workshop. Tell us your wording or logo, choose your size and colour, and we check your artwork for free before anything is made. You get a proof to approve, then an honest ready-by time, not a hopeful guess.

WhatIs a Neon Sign?
A neon sign is a sign made from glowing tube light, bent into letters, shapes or a logo and mounted so it can be switched on and enjoyed. Classic neon is glass tubing filled with gas. LED neon, also called LED flex neon, uses a flexible LED strip inside a soft, even-glowing tube that is shaped the same way. Both give you that bright, continuous glow, but LED neon is lighter, safer to handle, cheaper to run and easier to fit.
A custom neon sign is simply one made to your design: your words, your font, your logo, your colours and your size. You may also hear them called personalised neon signs, bespoke neon signs, neon name signs, neon logo signs or custom neon lights. They’re all the same idea.
The finished sign is usually mounted on a clear or coloured backing panel, so it hangs on a wall, sits in a window or stands on a shelf. Many neon wall signs are fixed with a few simple fixings and plug straight into a power supply.
Our Neon Sign Options
Custom Text and Name Neon Signs
Your name, your business name, a slogan or a favourite phrase, made in a font you choose. These are the most popular custom neon signs, and the quickest to make. They suit shops, salons, bars, weddings and homes.
Best for: business names, slogans, personalised neon name signs, bedroom and living room walls, gifts.
Neon Logo Signs
Your brand mark, turned into light. A neon logo sign follows the outline of your logo, so the shapes and symbols are recognisable at a glance. Simple, bold logos work best.
Best for: shop fronts, reception walls, restaurants, showrooms and branded event spaces.
NeonBusiness Signs and Neon Signs for Shops
Make your shop stand out in the window or over the counter. A neon sign for a shop is often placed behind the glass, facing the street, so it draws people in without needing a full fascia. Pair it with a main fascia sign for the best result. See our fascia signs and illuminated signs pages.
Best for: shop windows, counters, feature walls, salons, barbers, takeaways and boutiques.
Bar, Café and Restaurant Neon Signs
The mood-setters. A neon sign over the bar, on a feature wall or above the coffee machine gives a café or restaurant atmosphere you can’t get from print alone. Colours can be matched to your brand, or chosen to suit the room.
Best for: a neon sign for a bar, café neon signs, restaurant feature walls, pubs and venues.
Neon Signs for Home and Room
A name above the bed, a quote in the lounge, a glow in the gaming room. Neon signs for home and neon signs for a room are personal and fun, and a great gift.
Best for: bedrooms, living rooms, gaming and home office spaces, nurseries and gifts.
Large Neon Signs
Want more impact? Large neon signs and big neon signs fill a wall, cover a feature panel or work from across a room.
Best for: feature walls, event backdrops, restaurant interiors and big shop fronts.
Small Neon Signs
Not every sign needs to be big. Small neon signs work well on shelves, counters, desks and in tight spaces.
Best for: shelves, counters, desks, small rooms and gifts.
Outdoor Neon Signs
If your sign needs to live outside, tell us. Outdoor neon signs need the right materials, sealing and fixings. For long-term outdoor use, a 3D illuminated sign is often the better choice, and we’ll say so honestly.
Neon Signs: How We Make Yours
We design, make and finish neon signs in-house at our High Wycombe workshop, so there are no middlemen and no mystery about where your sign is.
We check your artwork. Before anything is made, we check your wording, logo and layout for size, line thickness and anything that won’t bend cleanly into neon. That’s free on every order.
We send you a proof. You see exactly how the sign will look, with the font, size and colour, and nothing is made until you say so.
We make it. Your design is shaped, lit and mounted on its backing.
We test and check. Every sign is powered up and checked before it leaves the workshop.
You collect it or we deliver. Packed carefully and ready at the time we promised.
Sizes, Colours,Backings and Power
Sizes: from small desk and shelf signs to large wall pieces. Tell us the width, or the wall space, and we’ll recommend a size.
Colours: warm white, cool white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, purple and more. Choose a colour that suits the room, or match your brand.
Backings: clear acrylic, black or coloured acrylic, cut-to-shape or rectangular. A clear backing makes the sign look like it’s floating.
Power: most LED neon signs run from a low-voltage power supply that plugs into a standard socket.
Fixing: wall-mounted with fixings, hung on chains, or placed on a surface. Tell us your wall type and we’ll advise.
Design tip: keep your wording short. Fewer, bolder letters read better and cost less than a long line of small text.
Where Neon SignsWorkBest
Shop windows and counters: draw people in from the street
Bars, pubs and restaurants: set the mood behind the bar or on a feature wall
Cafés and coffee shops: a warm, welcoming focal point
Salons, barbers and beauty studios: a stylish name or logo above the mirror or desk
Offices and receptions: a modern brand wall
Events, weddings and parties: backdrops and photo walls
Gaming rooms, studios and creative spaces: colour and personality
Bedrooms and living rooms: a name, a quote or a favourite phrase
Neon signs work best indoors or in a sheltered spot such as behind a shop window. For open, exposed outdoor sites, choose a sign built for the weather. We’ll recommend the right one.

How to Design a Neon SignThat LooksBrilliant
Wondering how to create a neon sign that works? These tips apply to every kind of custom neon sign.
Keep the wording short. One name or one line beats a paragraph.
Choose a clear, rounded font. Smooth curves bend and glow better than very thin or tiny, detailed letters.
Pick a colour with purpose. Warm white feels inviting, pink and purple feel playful, blue feels cool and modern, red and orange feel bold.
Think about the wall behind it. A dark wall makes the glow pop. A light wall softens it.
Size it for the room. A bigger sign for a feature wall, a smaller one for a shelf or window.
Simplify your logo. Bold shapes and fewer fine details give the cleanest neon result.
Plan the power. Tell us where the socket is, and we’ll advise on cable length and fixing.
Check local rules for outdoor signs. Illuminated signs on a shop front, or on listed buildings or in conservation areas, may need advertisement consent from your local council.
Not sure how to design it? Send us your wording or logo and we’ll help shape it.
Neon Sign Prices: Good Value, Clearly Quoted
People often look for cheap neon signs UK, affordable custom neon signs and neon sign prices, and fair enough: you want a great sign at a sensible price. The honest answer is that price depends on size, wording or logo detail, colour, backing and quantity. A short name on a small sign costs far less than a detailed logo across a wall.
We don’t hide extras. Send us your wording or logo, a rough size and where it’s going, and we’ll give you a clear price with no obligation. If a smaller size or simpler design will do the job, we’ll say so.

Why Choose a Custom Neon Sign?
It gets noticed.
Light draws the eye. A neon sign works in a dim bar, a busy high street window and a quiet bedroom corner alike.
It’s made to measure
Your size, your colour, your backing, your fixings. No paying for features you don’t need.
It does the job day and night
Switch it on in the evening and your shop front, bar wall or reception keeps working after the sun goes down.
It’s efficient to run
LED neon uses far less power than traditional neon, so it can stay on for long stretches without a big bill.
It photographs brilliantly
Customers and guests take pictures in front of neon. That’s free promotion every time someone posts it.
It suits more than shops
Bars, cafés, weddings, studios, gaming rooms, nurseries and bedrooms all work. One page, many uses.

Neon Signs questions
Can't see your question? Call the workshop or send us a WhatsApp.
What is a neon sign?
A neon sign is a lit sign made from glowing tube light, shaped into words, shapes or a logo. Modern custom neon signs usually use LED neon, which gives the classic glow with lower power use and a lighter build.
What is a custom neon sign?
A custom neon sign is one made to your own design: your wording, font, logo, colour and size. Custom neon signs, personalised neon signs, bespoke neon signs and neon name signs all mean the same thing.
What is the difference between LED neon and glass neon?
Glass neon is traditional gasfilled tubing. LED neon uses a flexible LED strip in a soft tube. LED neon is lighter, safer to handle, cheaper to run and easier to fit.
Can I buy a neon sign online in the UK?
Yes. Start your order with our quote form, send your wording or logo, and we’ll reply with a clear price and ready-by time. You can also call or WhatsApp the workshop.
How much does a custom neon sign cost?
Price depends on size, wording or logo detail, colour and backing. Send us your idea and we’ll give you a clear price with no obligation.
Can I get a cheap neon sign?
We aim for good value, not the lowest price at any cost. A smaller, simpler design is usually the most affordable, and we’ll tell you if a simpler option will do the job.
How long does a custom neon sign take?
It depends on size, design and quantity. We always give you an honest timeline up front, and we’ll tell you before you order if your date isn’t realistic.
What file format should I send?
PDF is best, and vector files (PDF, AI or EPS) give the sharpest results. We also accept JPG and PNG, or just send your wording. We check every file for free and tell you straight away if anything needs fixing.
Can you turn my logo into a neon sign?
Yes, in most cases. Bold, simple logos work best, and very fine detail may need simplifying. Send your logo and we’ll tell you what will work.
Can I choose the font and colour?
Yes. Choose from a range of fonts, or send your own, and pick the colour that suits your space.
Can neon signs be used outdoors?
Neon signs work best indoors or in a sheltered spot such as behind a shop window. For open outdoor sites, a signs built for the weather, such as a 3D illuminated sign, is usually a better choice.
Are LED neon signs safe to leave on?
LED neon runs cool and uses little power, which is why it’s popular for long opening hours. Follow the supplier’s instructions and use the supplied power adaptor.
How do I fit a neon sign?
Most neon wall signs are fixed to the wall with a few simple fixings and plugged into a power supply. Tell us your wall type and we’ll advise.
What is the difference between a neon sign and a fluorescent sign?
A fluorescent sign is lit by fluorescent tubes or reflects light, and looks flatter. Neon and LED neon give a continuous glowing line. If you’re after a bold, glowing look, neon is the better fit.
Can I order a neon sign as a gift?
Yes. Neon name signs, quotes and small neon signs make memorable gifts. Tell us the date you need it and we’ll confirm it’s realistic.
Can I order several neon signs at once?
Yes. Send us the wording and sizes for each, and we’ll quote the full set so every sign has the same look.
Where can I collect my neon sign?
From our workshop at St George’s Works, Coronation Road, High Wycombe, HP12 3GG. We’re open Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 17:30, and closed on Sundays.
