Branded café barriers and printed café barrier banners for outdoor seating: PVC, mesh and canvas, made in High Wycombe. Free proof. Get a quote today.

It’s the first properly sunny Saturday of the year. Your outdoor tables are full, the coffee is flowing, and then the wind picks up. Napkins scatter. Someone asks to move inside. Meanwhile, the pavement beside your tables is a free-for-all: buggies, bikes and shoppers cutting straight through your seating area.

A café barrier fixes all of that at once. It marks out your space, takes the edge off the wind, and gives your seating a calm, enclosed feel. And because it’s a printed banner at eye level, it also works as a sign your whole street can read, with your logo, your menu or your offer facing the people walking by.

We design and print custom café barriers in our own High Wycombe workshop: printed café barrier banners, branded panels in clear PVC, mesh or canvas, made to fit your system, plus advice on posts and bases. Send us the size of your barrier and your logo, and we’ll come back with a design, a clear price and an honest ready-by time. We check your artwork for free, and nothing is printed until you approve your proof.

What Are Café Barriers?

A café barrier is a free-standing screen around an outdoor seating area. It’s made of posts (often with a pole and a weighted base) and banner panels that clip or slide between them. You may also hear them called café barrier systems, café pavement barriers, café wind barriers, outdoor café screens or windbreaks.

The panels do three jobs. They shelter your customers from wind. They define your space, so it’s clear where the tables end and the pavement begins. And they advertise you, because every panel is a printable sign at eye level. That makes a branded café barrier one of the hardest-working things on the pavement.

We focus on the printed panel, which is the part that carries your brand. We’ll help you choose a material that suits your site, and we’ll tell you honestly if a different option would work better. [CONFIRM: how much of the system you supply]

Our Café Barrier Options

Printed Café Barrier Banners

The heart of the product. Printed café barrier banners are made to the size of your system, with sharp, full-colour artwork: your logo, your name, your menu or a bold pattern. Choose single- or double-sided so both customers and passers-by see your brand. [CONFIRM: print method, sizes and how panels attach]

Best for: cafés, coffee shops, restaurants and bars with outdoor tables.

Clear PVC Café Screens

Clear panels block the wind and keep the view. A clear PVC barrier lets customers watch the street while staying sheltered, with your logo printed at the top or the edge. See our PVC banners page for the material. [CONFIRM: clear PVC panels with printed edges]

Best for: cafés that want shelter without losing the view.

Mesh Café Barriers

Mesh lets some air pass through, so it handles gusty, exposed sites better than a solid panel. It prints sharply and still gives you a branded boundary. See our mesh banners page. [CONFIRM: mesh panels for barriers]

Best for: windy pavements, squares and open terraces.

Canvas and Fabric Barriers

Canvas barriers and fabric panels give a softer, more premium look, with rich colour and no glare. See our fabric banners page. [CONFIRM: canvas or fabric panels for barriers]

Best for: upmarket cafés, bistros, hotels and wine bars.

Heavy Duty Café Barriers

Busy site, strong wind or all-year use? Heavy duty café barriers use sturdier posts, weighted bases and tougher panels to cope. Tell us how exposed your site is, and we’ll advise on the right set-up. [CONFIRM: heavy-duty systems and bases]

Best for: exposed pavements, seafront and high streets, and all-year trading.

Café Barrier Systems, Posts, Poles and Bases

Starting from scratch? A complete café barrier system includes posts or poles with weighted bases and the panels between them. Tell us the length of your seating area, and we’ll recommend how many posts and panels you need. Black café barrier posts are popular for a clean look, and rustic-style finishes suit traditional cafés. [CONFIRM: posts, poles, bases and finishes supplied]

Best for: new cafés, new outdoor areas and replacing worn-out barriers.

Café Barrier Planters

Want greenery as well as a barrier? Planter-style barriers combine a screen with a planter box for a softer, greener edge. [CONFIRM: planter barriers offered; remove this section if not]

Best for: garden-style cafés and restaurants.

Restaurant, Bistro, Coffee Shop, Bar and Shop Barriers

Not just cafés. Restaurant barriers, bistro barriers, coffee shop barriers and bar barriers work wherever you have tables outside, and shop barriers can mark out a display area or a queue on the pavement.

Best for: restaurants, bistros, bars, pubs, bakeries and shops with outdoor space.

Opening, Seasonal and Event Banners

Opening a new café? A café opening banner on your barrier or shop front tells the street you’re here. We can also print seasonal and event panels, from Christmas to summer menus. See our PVC banner printing for banners that hang. [CONFIRM: short runs and seasonal panels]

Banners for Crowd Barriers

Looking for banners for crowd barriers at events, markets or festivals? We print banners made to fit, from our PVC and mesh range. [CONFIRM: crowd barrier banners and sizes]

Not sure? Tell us where the barrier stands, how windy it is and what you want it to say. We’ll recommend the right panel, even if it’s the simpler or cheaper one.

Sizes and How to Measure

Getting the panel size right means it fits the posts first time.

  1. Measure the gap between the posts, from centre to centre, or between the clips or fixings.

  2. Measure the height you need, from the base or the lowest fixing to the top.

  3. Note how it attaches: clips, sleeves, ties, eyelets or a track.

  4. Send a photo of your barrier, with a tape measure or a coin for scale, plus the brand of your system if you know it.

Not sure? Send us a photo and the make of your system, and we’ll confirm the panel size before anything is printed. [CONFIRM: panel sizes and fixings, such as eyelets, clips or sleeves]

Design Tips for Café Barrier Banners

  • Keep it simple. Your logo and one short line beat a busy design.

  • Think about who reads it. Passers-by see the outside face and diners see the inside face, so design both. Double-sided panels do this well.

  • Use big, bold type. If it can’t be read from across the pavement, it’s too small.

  • Use high contrast. Dark on light or light on dark, especially in bright sun.

  • Mind the clear panels. Text on clear PVC reads best in a solid colour with a strong outline, and shouldn’t block the view.

  • Put your logo at eye level. It’s where people look when they’re sitting down and walking past.

  • Send a vector logo. PDF, AI or EPS files give the sharpest print.

  • Plan for change. Seasonal menu or offer? Keep one panel for the changing message.

Before You Put One Out: Rules and Safety

A good barrier is safe, tidy and allowed. A few simple checks:

  • Pavement licence. If your tables and barrier stand on a public pavement, you normally need a pavement licence from your local council, and they may have rules on barriers, height, branding and layout. Check before you order.

  • Wind and stability. Barriers act like sails. Use heavy, weighted bases and take panels down in high winds. [CONFIRM: recommended base weights and wind advice]

  • Keep the way clear. Leave a clear path for pedestrians, buggies and wheelchairs, and keep entrances and fire exits free.

  • Landlord and lease. If you rent, check your lease before fixing or placing anything outside.

  • Advertising rules. Some branding on or near the highway needs consent from your local council.

We’re happy to talk it through, and we’ll tell you honestly if a different option, such as an A-board pavement sign, suits your spot better.

How Much Do Café Barriers Cost?

People often search for cheap café barriers and café barriers for sale, and that’s fair: you want a barrier that looks good without a big bill. The honest answer is that price depends on the number of panels, their size, the material, one or two printed sides, and whether you need posts and bases. A single printed panel costs far less than a full barrier system, and larger quantities usually cost less per panel. [CONFIRM: bulk discounts]

Our barriers are made to order, not sold off the shelf, so every panel fits your system and carries your brand. We quote each order clearly, with no hidden extras. If a simpler set-up will do the job, we’ll say so. Send us the panel size and quantity, and we’ll give you a price with no obligation. [CONFIRM: starting prices]

Ready for Outdoor Seating That Brings People In?

Why Choose Printed, Branded Café Barriers?

They shelter your guests.

A barrier takes the bite out of the wind, so tables stay comfortable for longer. That means more seated customers on breezy days.

They’re free advertising.

Panels sit at eye level beside people who are already looking at your menu. Your name, your logo and your offers reach everyone walking past.

They match the rest of your brand.

Barriers, A-boards, banners and fascia come from one team, so everything lines up.

They look professional.

A matching, branded set looks organised and established, and a faded, plain or mismatched barrier doesn’t.

They’re good value.

A printed panel costs far less than a new sign, and it works whenever you’re open.

They make a space.

A clear boundary makes outdoor seating feel like part of your café, instead of a few chairs on a pavement.

What are café barriers?

Café barriers are free-standing screens around outdoor seating, made of posts and banner panels. They shelter customers from the wind, mark out your space and carry your branding at eye level.

What is the difference between a café barrier and a café banner?

The banner is the printed panel, and the barrier is the whole system: posts, bases and panels. Café banners, café barrier banners and café screens usually mean the printed panels.

Link to this answer
Do you supply the posts and bases or just the printed banners?

We focus on the printed panels, and we can advise on posts, poles and bases to suit your site.

Can you print panels for my existing café barrier?

Yes, in most cases. Send us the panel size, how it attaches and a photo, and we’ll confirm we can make it to fit before anything is printed.

What materials do you use?

Printed PVC, clear PVC, mesh and canvas or fabric, depending on your site and look. Tell us how windy and exposed it is, and we’ll recommend one.

Which is best for wind: PVC, mesh or canvas?

Solid panels block the wind best but put more strain on the posts, so they need heavy bases. Mesh lets some air through and copes better in gusty spots. We’ll advise on your site.

Link to this answer
Can I print on both sides?

Yes. Double-sided panels show your brand to passers-by on the outside and to diners on the inside.

What size do I need?

We make panels to fit your system. Measure the gap between the posts and the height, send a photo, and we’ll confirm the size before printing.

Can I put my logo on a café barrier?

Yes. Send your logo and wording, and we’ll lay out the design. A vector file (PDF, AI or EPS) gives the sharpest print, and we check every file for free.

Do I need permission to put barriers on the pavement?

If your tables and barrier are on a public pavement, you normally need a pavement licence from your local council, and they may have rules on barriers, height and branding. Check before you order.

Link to this answer
Can barriers stay out all year?

Printed panels are made for outdoor use, but how long they last depends on the material, the weather and the wind. Tell us your site and we’ll advise.

Link to this answer
Are café barriers safe in strong wind?

Barriers act like sails, so use heavy, weighted bases and take panels down in high winds. Mesh panels can help on exposed sites.

Link to this answer
Can I order several panels at once?

Yes. Tell us the sizes and designs, and we’ll quote the full set so every panel matches. Larger orders usually cost less per panel.

How much do café barriers cost?

Price depends on panel size, material, sides printed, quantity and whether you need posts and bases. We quote each order individually, so you only pay for what you need.

Link to this answer
Can I get cheap café barriers?

We aim for good value, not the lowest price at any cost. Tell us your budget and we’ll recommend the best option, and we’ll say so if a simpler set-up will do the job.

Do you sell café barriers off the shelf?

No. Our panels are made to order, so they fit your system and carry your brand. If you’ve been searching for café barriers for sale, send us your measurements and we’ll give you a clear price.
