Custom Printed Bollard Covers That Turn Plain Posts Into Eye-Catching Adverts

Plain posts out. Your brand in.

It’s a wet Tuesday lunchtime, and there’s a small queue outside your café. Nobody’s looking at your sign above the door. They’re looking down the street, checking their phones, watching the bus. And right beside them is a grey bollard that has been doing nothing for years.

That bollard is free advertising space. It stands exactly where people walk, wait and pause. A printed bollard cover turns it into a bright, branded message at the height of a passer-by’s hand: your name, an offer, an arrow pointing to your door, or a seasonal greeting that makes people smile.

We design and print custom bollard covers in our own High Wycombe workshop. Printed bollard sleeves in Correx, in triangular, square and slip-over styles, made to fit your bollards. Send us the bollard size and your logo, and we’ll come back with a design, a clear price and an honest ready-by time. We check your artwork for free, and nothing is printed until you approve your proof.

What Are Bollard Covers?

A bollard cover is a printed sleeve that fits over a bollard or post, so the bollard works as a sign. You may also see them called bollard sleeves, bollard post sleeves, bollard post covers, bollard wraps or bollard signs. They all do the same job: make a plain post part of your advertising.

One quick note, so you land in the right place. Some people search for bollard covers meaning padded guards that protect cars or people from impact. We make printed advertising and information covers, not impact protection. If you want padding or crash protection, a safety supplier is the right choice. If you want your message on the pavement, you’re in the right place.

Most printed covers are made from Correx, a lightweight, weatherproof plastic board, and shaped as a triangle, a square or a slip-over sleeve. We’ll help you choose the style that suits your bollard and your message.

Our Bollard Cover Options

Printed Correx Bollard Covers

The everyday choice. Correx is a lightweight, weatherproof plastic board that prints sharply and costs less than most rigid signs. Printed Correx bollard covers are popular for offers, openings, directions and seasonal messages. See our Correx signs page for the material.

Best for: shops, cafés, restaurants, events and short- to medium-term advertising.

Triangular Bollard Covers

Triangular bollard covers (also triangle bollard covers) have three faces, so your message can be seen from several directions at once. They’re a smart way to show your name on one side and an offer on another.

Best for: busy pavements, corners and bollards seen from different angles.

Square Bollard Covers

Square bollard covers give you four flat faces for bold graphics, with a neat, modern shape. They suit square posts and make large, easy-to-read messages.

Best for: shop fronts, car parks, offices and retail parks.

Slip Over Bollard Covers and Sleeves

Slip over bollard covers (also slip over bollard sleeves) are made to fit over the top of the bollard and sit snugly in place. Fast to fit and easy to remove or swap.

Best for: quick changes, seasonal messages and temporary promotions.

Bollard Wraps and Printed Vinyl

Bollard wraps are printed vinyl wrapped around a bollard for a flat, smooth finish. Our custom vinyl signs page explains how printed vinyl works. Vinyl suits clean, smooth bollards.

Best for: longer-term branding on smooth metal or painted bollards.

Bollard Toppers and Bollard Signs

Bollard toppers and bollard cover signs sit on the top of the bollard, so your message sits above the bollard and is seen from further down the street. Great for “open”, arrows and logos.

Best for: wayfinding, parking areas and events.

Seasonal and Christmas Bollard Covers

Christmas bollard covers, summer sale sleeves and event covers make a high street look festive for very little. Easy to print in short runs and easy to change.

Best for: shopping streets, markets, pubs and venues.

Decorative Bollard Covers

Want something that looks great, rather than just sells? Decorative bollard covers can carry patterns, artwork, local scenes or a simple colour that ties in with your shop front.

Best for: cafés, hotels, restaurants and landmark spots.

Parking Bollard Covers and Outdoor Bollard Covers

Parking bollard covers and outdoor bollard covers can carry bay numbers, directions, house rules, visitor notices and your business name. Printed to suit outdoor use.

Best for: car parks, business parks, retail parks and venue entrances.

Custom Bollard Covers in Any Size and Shape

Unusual bollard? Tell us the size, shape and where it stands, and we’ll advise. Custom bollard covers can be made to suit square, round, tapered and other bollards.

Not sure? Tell us where the bollard is, how long the message needs to last and what you want it to say. We’ll recommend the right cover, even if it’s the simpler or cheaper one.

Sizes, Fit and How to Measure

Getting the size right matters. A sleeve that’s too loose flaps, and one that’s too tight won’t go on.

  1. Measure the height you want the cover to reach, from the ground or from a set point.

  2. Measure the width across the bollard, or the distance all the way around it (the circumference) if it’s round.

  3. Note the shape: round, square, tapered or other.

  4. Send a photo with a tape measure or a coin for scale.

Not sure? Send us a photo and your best guess, and we’ll confirm the right size before anything is printed. We can also send a bollard cover template so your designer can lay out the artwork correctly.

See Your Bollard Cover Before It’s Printed

Before we print, we send you a proof, and we can show a bollard cover mockup of your design on your bollard, so you can judge the size, colour and wording.

Design Tips: Get the Look Right

  • Keep it short. Five to seven words work best. People read a bollard as they walk.

  • Use big, bold type. If it can’t be read from a few metres away, it’s too small.

  • Use high contrast. Dark on light or light on dark. A black bollard cover with white text reads very well.

  • Use all the faces. On triangular and square covers, put your name on one face, an offer on another and a call to action on the third.

  • Add an arrow. An arrow pointing to your door turns a bollard into a signpost.

  • Keep it fresh. Swap seasonal or offer covers regularly so regulars notice them.

  • Send a vector logo. PDF, AI or EPS files give the sharpest print.

  • Match your brand. Use the same colours and fonts as your fascia and A-board.

Before You Fit One: Rules and Safety

Bollards are there to protect people and property, so keep them easy to see. A few simple checks:

  • Whose bollard is it? Bollards on a public pavement usually belong to the council or highway authority. You’ll normally need their permission before covering one. Bollards on private land need the landowner’s or landlord’s OK.

  • Keep it visible. A cover shouldn’t make the bollard harder to see, especially at night. Use contrasting colours and avoid fully hiding reflective strips.

  • Don’t obstruct. Make sure covers don’t block the pavement, a dropped kerb or a doorway.

  • Check local advertising rules. Some advertising on or near the highway needs consent from your local council. Check early, before you order.

We’re happy to talk it through. We’ll also tell you honestly if a different sign, such as an A-board pavement sign, would suit your spot better.

How Much Do Bollard Covers Cost?

People often search for cheap bollard covers, and that’s fair: you want a message that works without a big bill. The honest answer is that price depends on size, shape, material, how many faces are printed and how many you need. A single printed Correx sleeve costs far less than a full set for a car park, and larger quantities usually cost less per cover.

Because every cover is made to order, we quote each one clearly, with no hidden extras. If a simpler cover will do the job, we’ll say so. Send us the size and quantity, and we’ll give you a price with no obligation.

Where Bollard Covers Work Best

  • Cafés, restaurants and takeaways: menus, offers, opening hours and arrows

  • Shops and retail parks: sales, new ranges and seasonal messages

  • Car parks: bay numbers, directions and rules

  • Offices and business parks: visitor directions and entrance signs

  • Gyms, salons and clinics: open days, new-client offers and welcome messages

  • Hotels and venues: event signs and wayfinding

  • Markets, festivals and high streets: seasonal and event covers

  • Estate agents and property developers: open-house and show-home signs

Want a bigger message? Pair your covers with a fascia sign above the door, a 3D shop sign and a PVC banner on the wall, or browse the full signage range.
